Safeguarding Adults Level 3

This Safeguarding Adults level 3 training course is for all staff who: –

• Need to respond to adult safeguarding concerns
• Contribute to supporting adults at risk of abuse and/or their families/carers
• Participate in Safeguarding Adults investigations

This could include but is not limited to; social workers, community care officers, social care workers, social care managers, GP’s, practice nurses, heads of quality, chief nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists

WHY DO YOU NEED THIS COURSE?

394,655 concerns of abuse regarding vulnerable adults were raised during 2017-18, a huge increase of 8.2% on the previous year. (Source: Safeguarding Adults Collection, NHS Digital)

Reporting abuse and neglect is a legal and moral responsibility for all Healthcare Professionals.

If you are in a position where you are relied on by vulnerable adults, or you work with their families/ carers, you have a duty of care to ensure your Safeguarding training is up to date.

This training course will refresh and update your Safeguarding Adults knowledge and enable you to continue providing the best possible care for vulnerable adults.

OBJECTIVES

On completion of this training course, you will be able to:

• Recognise an adult that is vulnerable to being abused
• Identify evidence + indicators of abuse
• Recognise factors that which may increase the risk of abuse
• Report concerns about suspected/ alleged abuse
• Understand how to work in a manner that minimises the risk of abuse to vulnerable adults
• Understand legal requirements
• Understand Trust and Multi-agency Safeguarding Vulnerable Adult policy and processes
• Understand your role + responsibility as part of Multi-Agency Policy + Procedures
• Understand prevention actions + how to recognise signs and indicators of possible vulnerable adult abuse
• Understand actions to take in responding to a safeguarding vulnerable adult concern and immediate actions to take to Safeguard Trust and Multi-agency safeguarding vulnerable adult policy and processes
• Understand how the Mental Capacity Act + Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards support safeguarding vulnerable adults
